PROTOCOL 11
Magazine

Protocol is an interdisciplinary and independent magazine about current discourses on architecture. Initiated by architecture students at the University of the Arts Berlin, it is published annually with a changing focus. This issue deals with the topic of criticism. Criticism arises between observation and interpretation, in search of arguments that evoke counter-arguments, evoke emotions and raise doubts. But what are the critical themes in architecture and what is the current state of criticism and critical thinking? Various international text and image contributions are dedicated to these and other questions. The design includes a grotesque typeface specially created for this issue. The entire magazine was printed in black and a Pantone special colour in offset.
